About DOPE RHYME MUSIC

Founder and CEO of Dope Rhyme Music, James “jRich” Richardson is an L.A. based music producer. Born into a musical family, jRich’s mother Rosa was a classical pianist and his father Nathaniel, played keyboards, piano and percussions. Nathaniel played with members of Earth, Wind and Fire in their early years and would take jRich along with him.

jRich learned to play the piano by ear at 8 years old, often listening to his father play the piano in the family home and when his father would finally get up from playing, jRich would sit down at the upright piano and tinker away at the keys until he would play exactly what he heard his father playing earlier. jRich went onto his own musical journey in the 90’s and began rapping, producing music and released a CD with the rap and R&B group KrunchJam. From there jRich dreamed of becoming one of the hottest new producers in the industry. jRich is now well on his way with the release of his debut solo project as a producer “Here I Come”.

The project features legendary WestCoast artist/producer DJ BattleCat, best known for his work with Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Faith Evans. jRich is also collaborating with platinum producer and engineer DCat Cornelius, from the Snoop, P-Funk, Jackson and Womack dynasty’s and other hot upcoming artists in and around Los Angeles. jRich is officially launching his project on his own record label, Dope Rhyme Music in 2020 and is currently in the process of becoming a trademarked music business brand.

The birth of the “Here I Come” project began in jRich’s Akai MPCX back in 2018. Although jRich had been away from the music industry for a while, he soon found himself passionate about making music again after hearing hip-hop and R&B coming back to life. In parallel, jRich decided to do everything through his own brand with his new label Dope Rhyme Music.

The first single is a very catchy and upbeat song titled “Handle It” featuring Bryan GetEm, along with singers Love Keyyz and Purpose. The second single is the EP’s title track “Here I Come” featuring West Coast legend DJ Battlecat.
